"Sex therapy" can feel like a big step, especially if sexuality is a topic that feels hard to talk about. The couples I work with aren’t on the verge of collapse. In many ways, your relationship is likely working: you care about each other, function pretty well as a team, and may even feel confident in how you communicate most the time. But when it comes to intimacy, there are growing disconnects keeping you stuck.

Intimacy can start to feel weighed down by stress, pressure, and painful differences that feel unresolvable. Sex may feel like a chore or something to "push through". Perhaps past experiences still intrude, causing one or both partners panic and anxiety. When couples become stuck in these cycles, intimacy can start to take up an outsized portion of your emotional energy.
 

My goal is to create a container in therapy where we can effectively work on making intimacy feel safer to approach, more playful in your relationship, and more aligned with your shared needs. I help my clients to understand their own and each other's sexualities more deeply so that you can come out more connected on the other side of our work. My practice is sex positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, kink/poly friendly, secular, and unwaveringly trauma-informed.
